Nationally Recognized, Locally Celebrated

Black Creek’s course was the first in modern times to embrace the classic elements of strategic design that made golf great in America, the architectural features that created such timeless courses as Chicago Golf Club, the National Golf Links of America, Fisher’s Island, and nearby Lookout Mountain Golf Club. Charles Blair Macdonald, the singular reason golf in America adheres to the rules of the Scottish game, informed the design not only of these great American courses, but Black Creek Club as well.

1999 “Architect of the Year” Brian Silva channeled the genius of C. B. Macdonald and his protege, Seth Raynor, to create a unique modern version of those classic courses, built upon the gently rolling land with very little earthmoving, as were most courses built 100 years ago. Upon its debut, Black Creek was ranked among Golfweek’s Top 100 Modern Courses. It was the only course in Tennessee to appear among the Top 100 Residential Courses.

The Club employs PGA Golf Professionals who offer lessons, camps and clinics, using the latest technology in swing analysis in their indoor hitting bays, now under construction. Black Creek also features a fully stocked Pro Shop and has ample practice areas including three practice putting greens.

Black Creek Is a Natural

Nature determined the course our fairways, greens and bunkers would take. Black Creek’s 18-hole marvel follows the lay of the land. It works in harmony with the contours of the good earth and the mountains that surround it. It’s 7,204 yards of breathtaking beauty and challenge.

An Original from Tee to Green

Renowned golf course designer Brian Silva has created the architectural connection between Black Creek and the Golden Age of golf. Each hole is set into the topography’s natural lie. Each hole is given multiple approaches. Each hole is unique. This design ethic not only connects Black Creek golf course to the land, it makes each round unforgettable.

Black Creek is a course that demands the best shot making strategy from handicappers while providing a more forgiving experience for less experienced players. With five sets of tee markers beginning at just over 5,000 yards and stretching to a championship length of of more than 7,000 yards, Black Creek gives players at any level golf at its best.
